“Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered…” Psalm 68:1
Russia made a bone-chilling announcement on Friday, informing the world that on August 21st they are going to load nuclear fuel rods into an Iranian reactor. This installation marks completion of the 10-year-old “Bushehr Reactor” project between the two nations and adds a potentially catastrophic reality to the Iranian nuclear threat.
According to Former U.N. Ambassador, John R. Bolton, on an interview with Fox News, “The Obama administration has urged Russia not to insert the fuel rods in the reactors, but as they’ve just announced that will begin next week. What that does over time is help Iran get another route to nuclear weapons through the plutonium they could reprocess out of the spent fuel rods.”
Russian officials have stated, “Iran has promised in writing to send all spent fuel rods from Bushehr back to Russia for reprocessing, to ensure they cannot be used for nuclear weapons.” The empty promises of Israel’s enemies echo throughout history as they bounce off the ruins of every nation that has ever lifted its hand against “the apple of God’s eye.”
Immediate Action Items:
• Pray for these two enemies of Israel, Iran and Russia. Pray God’s hand to be strong upon them, and that any wicked plan formed against Israel will fall upon those who devise it.
• Intercede on behalf of our nation and current administration. Pray that godly counselors are brought to our president and nation’s leaders and that the United States continues to stand with Israel. Pray wisdom, strength, and courage for the leaders of Israel.
• Encourage everyone you know to sign up for CUFI’s weekly updates. That way they will be included when we need to issue urgent Action Alerts asking our leaders to stand with Israel in these perilous times. The larger we are, the more effective we will be at these critical junctures! Please forward this email to your family and friends and ask them to sign up to receive it themselves.
Latino Christians Unite for Israel – Excerpts from an article that first appeared in The Jewish Journal- August 10, 2010
In a nondescript building just south of Los Angeles’ Koreatown, dozens of Christians gathered last week to worship Jesus and celebrate the nation of Israel.
One congregant jumped in front of the boisterous band that played in the small space, waving the Israeli flag, as others swayed to the music with their arms raised in the air.
“How many of you love Israel in this church?” the congregation was asked in Spanish.
This is Ministerios Shekinah, just one of many churches across the United States that is part of a grass-roots movement known as Christians United for Israel. Launched in February 2006, the group aims to build “Christian support for Israel throughout America through a program of education, outreach and events.”
Although Ministerios Shekinah is a Spanish-speaking congregation, Christians United for Israel works with Christians of all backgrounds and is said to be hundreds of thousands of members strong. Click here to read more of the article.
Israel is facing some of the greatest challenges in her short history. The Jewish State is surrounded by enemies determined to destroy her from Hezbollah in the north to Hamas in the south to Iran just over the horizon. And, for the first time in decades, it is unclear whether the United States will continue to extend its traditional support to Israel.
One way that you can stand with Israel is by wearing the new CUFI Unity Pin. For your gift of $15 or more, it would be our pleasure to send you a CUFI Unity Pin.
It is more necessary than ever for American Christians like you to stand with Israel as she struggles for her very existence.
By supporting CUFI you can play an important role in rallying Christian support for Israel at this critical
hour. Your support will enable us to educate and
mobilize hundreds of thousands of American Christians
to stand with Israel.

The following are a few encouraging stories that we couldn’t help but share.
As we were driving out to a village Sunday morning, one of the translators that came along was telling us that he had been at the hospital the previous evening after the bus he was coming into Nellore on had a head-on collision with a lorry. Just about everyone on the bus had been injured, the first three rows of people seriously. Bushan said he had been given treatments for his injured knee, but he was back out with us Sunday morning. Bushan travels in to the area every weekend to preach in the villages.
A few days prior to this, Rufus, the director of Alma orphanage, was telling us about his flight home from a Baptist Ministry conference in Hawaii. As the flight that he and his mom were on was headed to the east coast, they had to take a slight detour to San Francisco. It seems that there was a man on the same flight, two rows behind Rufus, who was trying to light a bomb! A woman in his row casually reported him to a flight attendant, probably to keep from drawing attention to him and to avoid panicking the passengers. Shortly thereafter the pilot came over the loud speaker and announced that they would be making a short stop in San Francisco for plane trouble in approximately 45 minutes. Within 5 minutes the plane was on the ground and special agents had taken the man into custody.
While out in the villages on Sunday Steve was able to record the testimony of a little boy about 6 or 7 years old who was brought back from deaths grip.
In this photo he is the one with the maroon colored shirt. This incident happened about one month ago. His grandmother relayed the details and Bushan translated as follows: Many people were working out in the fields when it began to rain quite hard. Everyone ran to their homes to bring in the laundry. This boy’s grandmother said it was raining very hard and the boy must have fallen. He was lying on the floor when she discovered him. She explained “there was no breath in him.” The people didn’t know what to do because he had passed away. The boy’s pastor had anointing oil in his house so they decided to anoint him and pray over him. For over an hour and a half there was no response from the boy and he was not breathing. The grandmother said they prayed with so much grief and the boy finally came back to life. After 3 or 4 hours they brought him to the hospital where he was given medication and re-gained his strength, but since that time the boy has some eye blindness.
May you be encouraged by these testimonies as you see the Lord continues to be our Strength, our Protector, our Healer and Our Ever-present Help in times of trouble.
On Monday many of the evangelists that are associated with the orphanage came in for a meeting. There were somewhere between 60 to 70 people gathered for a day of singing, teaching, praying, sharing testimonies and arranging schedules for the coming months. This was another encouraging and uplifting day as we heard over and over how God is working in the lives of so many here. Steve shared a message while Rufus translated. They had most of them laughing as some were requested to act out roles of farm animals. The women are very quiet and generally don’t have much outward response due to the culture, but this type of message should be easy for them to re-tell. It seemed to impact them in such a positive way.
Throughout the week we were able to participate in village ministry, baptisms, and a house dedication. On Tuesday we stopped at a sugar cane field on the way out to one village. Rufus said they felt like movie stars as we snapped photos with the workers in the field. The church in this small village was established over 22 years ago and we had a great time together ministering & sharing out under the stars.
As the house dedication took place on Wednesday evening Steve said that every bug in the area must have heard about the party and came to witness the event.
Steve also joined in the baptisms of a husband and wife while many villagers looked on singing and dancing the entire time.
They definitely make baptisms a joyful occasion. A nasty virus kept me back at the orphanage on this particular evening and after hearing about the bugs I realized that it was probably a blessing in disguise.
While I remained at the orphanage I observed some of the local children playing and got such a kick out of them. One boy had found a long section of twine and a small piece of cardboard. He strategically tied the twine to the front of the cardboard and then took off running. Apparently he thought it would fly like a kite. When it wouldn’t get off the ground, he shortened the twine with his teeth, stuffed the remnant in his pocket and ran off dragging the cardboard on the ground. He seemed so pleased with himself for constructing such a wonderful thing to play with. I couldn’t help but think how refreshing these kid’s imaginations are.
Friday evening we traveled to a village about 2½ hours from the orphanage. We shared a message outside of the church and I was grateful that the temperatures cooled down a bit after a rainstorm had come through.
It was wonderful to see many other locals were listening to the message from their porch areas. We loved holding and praying a blessing over a little newborn named Suka Mary. Her parents worshipped idols in a very remote village prior to becoming believers. They had 3 previous babies delivered but all had died shortly after birth. The parents said they believe that the other babies had died because of their idol worship. An evangelist came to their village and told them about Jesus.
They began to hold prayer meetings every Friday night with the evangelist praying that God would favor them with a child. Recently they had a successful delivery and their baby girl has lived. The name Suka means “sufficient.” Suka Mary anointed me as we prayed over her and we all laughed. Her parents said that was a sign that she likes you!
Afterwards Steve and I had a romantic little dinner out on the pastor’s front porch. A huge rat was running through the overhead covering and I told him he better stay right where he was. This was our dinner!
Saturday morning Steve and I watched these kids playing on the roof of a nearby house. Wouldn’t parents in the US freak out if their kids were so close to the edge of the roof.
I told Steve this must be similar to telling your kids, “why don’t you go play on the freeway!”
We have a full day scheduled for Sunday and Monday before leaving Nellore for Hyderabad. We’re excited to be able to participate in a wedding on Monday before we leave and will give highlights of that in our next newsletter. The time here in Nellore has gone by so quickly. As they say, “time flies when you’re having fun.” We will catch an evening train back to Hyderabad Monday evening and arrive Tuesday morning. As we begin to help with preparations for the P4P team’s arrival we are anticipating exciting things happening. This will be the first real opportunity we’ve had to minister with Brad and Jenny both and I must admit that the idea makes me happy. Please pray that the Lord will bring everything together for His glory!
As of today, we still have not heard whether our paper work for Manipur has been accepted. We are hoping to hear early this week, but please keep this situation in your prayers. Denise’s sore throat is much better so thank you for your prayers in that area. It has turned into a nasty head cold but it seems that the majority of people in India have that virus too, so it isn’t unexpected. Depending on how things work out over the next month, we may return to Nellore at the end of September for additional ministry. Please pray that the Spirit will direct our path and continue to provide protection in our going out and our coming in. Thank you to all of those that have sent encouraging messages and correspondence.

In America we have a great and beautiful desire to accept people. After all we are the melting pot. We are the land of the free…made up of emigrants.
But there is a tide in America, one that would have us believe that all things foreign are acceptable and that we have to accept foreign equal to our own culture or as part of our culture. I’m thinking of the way our president and political leaders, our social leaders and civil rights leaders our woman’s rights leaders have all turned a blind eye to the social agenda that is creeping into our culture via the middle east. Did you know Saudi Arabia is a land of 24 million inhabitants controlled by a monarchy on one hand and sharia law on the other. There is no separation of church and state because both rule heavy handed upon the people and there is no appeal from the law, the monarchy rules wealth and the religious clerics control behavior through meticulously administrated sharia law.
Sharia law is religious law. It is a body of Islamic religious law. The term means path to the water source. It is the legal framework within which the public and private aspects of life are regulated for those living in a legal system based on Islamic principles.
On the books adultery is punishable by death. Murder and drug dealing will also cost your life. Stealing will require the payment of a hand and drinking alcohol will land you in prison, the country shuts down five times each day when the prayer call wafts over the city from mosques. The faithful, who be everyone, boy in the direction of Mecca. Christians are prohibited from participating in any worship. If you’re a Saudi and attempt to share Jesus or the Torah the law calls for your death.
Women in Saudi Arabia are subservient to men in every way. Women must be fully covered with black veils and are segregated from the males in society, having separate entrances and isolated areas within temples or places of business. They are not allowed to drive cars, may not travel in or out of Saudi Arabian cities without a designated male guardian, are not allowed to vote, must get the approval of their husband for nearly everything, are almost never allowed to be employed, and are denied the ability to represent themselves in a court system that already regards women as inferior.
Women you can;t go in the main entrance to Star Bucks in Saudi Arabia and you can’t have coffee there. Is this what you want in America?
It is no wonder that Middle Eastern countries hate the US we offer freedom. It is no wonder why they hate Israel, a tiny piece of groun that stands for women’s rights and religious freedom. There sits Israel like a thorn in the ancient tyrannical rule of religious power and money. And Israel dares to say women have rights that are equal. People have the right to worship God as they know him. We must support Israel and keep freedom in the Middle east alive. Lord Bless to Israel.
THE WORD OF GOD CAN CHANGE YOU LIFE!!

JULY 23,2010-204th day of the year. Luke 9:28-45, Today reading this scripture was a branding moment for me. A day I will never forget! Like the day of 9/11 we all remember right where we were we when we herd the news. Jesus took Peter, James, and John to a mountain to pray. And when he was praying the appearance of Jesus face changed and his clothes became dazzling white. Then two men, Moses, and Elijah appeared and began talking with Jesus. They were talking about how Jesus was going to fulfill God’s plan by dying for us in Jerusalem. A defining moment for our future.

The Word of God is so important to read everyday! It is so much fun to learn every day. ON THE 203 Day of the year-in MARK 8. I am always anxious to see instant healing when I pray for someones health,or there situations. But when Jesus 8:25 touch the man a second time, he chose to do it in stages, possibly to show the disciples and us that some healing would be gradual rather than instantaneous or to demonstrate that spiritual truth is not always understood clearly at first. Of course Jesus did heal the man before he left. What do you think?

My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.
Community or clique?
Birds of a feather flock together. That’s why you never see a robin flying wingman in a “V” formation of geese or a crow hanging out with hummingbirds (actually, crows are mean enough that they don’t even like the company of other crows). But we who are filled with the Holy Spirit are empowered to buck this law of nature and follow the example of Jesus. He shared His life with an unusual group of guys who were not like Him or even each other. What do the Son of God, a tax collector, an anti-government zealot, and a handful of fishermen have in common? This kind of community was not natural, and—sadly— the first generation of Christians began separating over class and racial differences. Jews looked down on Gentiles, masters thought less of slaves, and the wealthy abused the poor. James ordered the church to stop giving preferential treatment to the rich (James 2:1-9) and Paul admonished the Corinthians to eat together rather than divide by class (1 Corinthians 11:33-34). He reminded the Galatians that “there is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). Henri Nouwen defined community as “the place where the person you least want to live with always lives.” Philip Yancey explains: “Often we surround ourselves with the people we most want to live with, thus forming a club or a clique, not a community. Anyone can form a club; it takes grace, shared vision, and hard work to form a community.” Do you start conversations at church with those who are different from you? Do you invite people to dinner that you don’t particularly like? This kind of community is not natural. But it changed the world once, and it can do so again. —Mike Wittmer
GOOD MORNING MY FRIENDS-TODAY IS THE 199TH DAY OF THE YEAR-JULY 18,2010
Jul 18th
JULY18,2010
JOHN 6:22-40 the 199th day of the year.
JESUS is the bread from Heaven. People eat bread to satisfy physical hunger and sustain physical life.
We can satisfy spiritual hunger and sustain spiritual life only by a right relationship with God.
No wonder Jesus called himself the bread of life. But bread my friends must be eaten to sustain life,
and Christ must be invited into our daily walk for all of us to sustain spiritual life.

THE BIBLICAL CALL TO SERVICE!!
Jun 24th
The film Miracle tells the true story of the 1980 US Olympic ice hockey team as it marches to an improbable gold medal. At the outset of the story, coach Herb Brooks is shown selecting the players for his team. When he gives assistant coach Craig Patrick a list of names he has chosen, Craig says in surprise, “You’re missing some of the best players.” Brooks responds, “I’m not looking for the best players, Craig—just the right ones.”
Brooks knew that individual talent would take the team only so far. A willingness to fit into his style of selfless play would be far more important than talent. Clearly, team success, not individual glory, was the priority.
The biblical call to service has a similar emphasis. In God’s purposes, each believer does his or her part, but the results are team-oriented. After explaining the wide differences in the spiritual gifts of believers, Paul says, “the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all” (1 Cor. 12:7). When we use the skills God gives us, His purposes are accomplished, and He gets the glory. In God’s service, it’s not about being the best, the most talented, or the most gifted. It’s about being the right people—the ones God “set . . . in the body” (v.18)—joining together to serve the same team.
Christ builds His church with different stones
And makes each one secure;
All shapes and sizes fit in place
To make His church endure. —Anon.
There are no unimportant people in the body of Christ.

“Swallowing the Pink Stuff”
As a pet owner, I try to do what is best for my cats-even when they don’t like it.
Since they don’t understand the tried-and-true “This hurts me more than it hurts you” line, I usually try to love on Demi and Denté a lot before having to do something unpleasant to them.
So I’m sure you can imagine what I’m going through right now, as I’m having to give medicine twice a day to Demi. Let’s just say there’s a whoooooole lot of “love” going on.
Because of a bacterial infection in her liver, the vet prescribed two weeks’ worth of amoxicillin. You know, it’s the pink stuff. Perhaps you’ve taken this medicine yourself at some point in time. It’s ooey, gooey and sickening. Thick, pink and downright dreadful. But it’s a hard worker, going straight to the infection and putting up a wall around the bacteria. Pretty soon you feel as good as new, if not better.
And that’s all fine and good in theory. But try explaining that to a 13-year-old cat who’s had enough of you. And your pink stuff.
When I use the dropper to squirt the medicine in Demi’s little mouth twice a day, she fights me, meows loudly and wriggles incessantly while I’m trying to help her.
“But this is good for you, Demi,” I say in my most soothing, pet-owner-ish of ways.
She doesn’t understand that the pink stuff is going to make her better. And if she doesn’t go through this process and swallow it down, then she will not get well.
Like my feline counterpart, I find that I respond in a very similar fashion when required to follow the instruction of the Lord – especially when it’s distasteful. Sadly, my first reaction is not compliance or obedience.
I turn away. Then I whine and complain. And I throw an emotional tantrum and see if there’s any way possible for me to get out of what God is asking me to do or what he’s asking me to swallow.
In the middle of my own dosages of the pink stuff, what I can’t see is that what is being administered to me is actually making me stronger and healthier. Putting up a wall around the sin in my system, teaching me truth or testing my faith-so that I may be more able-bodied to serve and glorify the Lord.
I don’t know if I will ever gladly reach for the spoon when being administered a daily dose of the pink stuff in my life. But hopefully, I will learn to swallow a little easier as I am continually reminded of the difference that Christ in me can make.
Intersecting Faith & Life: The next time you take or administer distasteful medicine, remember that life circumstances that seem unpleasant at the time can be used to “produce a harvest of righteousness and peace.”
“EYE ON GAZA”
May 31st
Here we go again
Like most of you, I awoke this morning to the disturbing news that Israeli commandos had raided a flotilla of “peaceful” ships trying to bring food to the residents of Gaza. In their “brazen” assault, the Israelis had killed at least ten “peace activists.” Oh no, I feared, perhaps some of those young Israeli soldiers finally snapped under the pressure. This time, they went too far. They had spilled the blood of those who had chosen the path of peace.
Then the facts of what actually happened began to emerge. As they did so, it became increasingly apparent that the Israelis had acted in self defense, after repeated attempts to avert violence had been ignored. And it also became clear that once again Israel’s side of the story was neither obvious nor simple. It takes an open mind and knowledge of the facts to understand what led to today’s tragedy at sea. Lacking both, most observers issued their guilty verdict against Israel the minute the death toll was announced.
First of all, this “humanitarian” flotilla was, at best, a cynical PR stunt. There is no food shortage in Gaza. Israel maintains an open corridor for the transfer of food to Gaza, and this route is used daily by legitimate relief organizations including the United Nations and the Red Cross. Over the last 18 months, well over a million tons of humanitarian supplies have entered Gaza from Israel. This equals almost a ton of aid for every man, woman and child in Gaza.
Secondly, the Israelis offered the flotilla a peaceful way to resolve the conflict

Jerusalem Arabs Plotted to Aid Hamas Prisoners
Eight Arab residents of Jerusalem, a Gaza resident, and an Arab citizen of Israel have been arrested for helping Hamas circumvent Israeli law in order to pay terrorists in Israeli prisons. The alleged ringleader of the group, attorney Shirin Isawai, is also suspected of helping Hamas coordinate its prison activities. The Gaza terrorists would receive demands from the prisoners and determine how much money to give them. The money was sent to Jihad and Hamas supporters in Judea and Samaria, who gave it to Isawai and other members of the Jerusalem-based group she led. The group would then bring the money into Jerusalem and deposit it in accounts at a local post office. Several of the accounts were under the names of deceased Palestinian Authority Arabs. The group’s activities were in place of Hamas “charities” which previously deposited money for imprisoned terrorists. The “charities” were dubbed illegal by the Palestinian Authority and by Israel, which has limited the amount of cash each prisoner may receive per month to 1,300 shekels. Among the prisoners who benefited from the extra funding were those who had been convicted for murder, including some serving life sentences. (IsraelNationalNews.com)

A military source reported that three terrorists attempted to infiltrate the Gaza security face, under the cover of the hazy conditions, but was spotted by an Israel Defense Forces lookout. The report followed by one in Arab media that six people were wounded by Israeli helicopter fire in the area.
Culture Wedding Wishes by Rabbi Dr. Aaron Adler “Not like others is my servant Moses–he is the most loyal in my entire home” (from this week’s Torah portion). Throughout the generations, the most popular greeting offered to a bride and groom immediately after the Chuppah wedding ceremony is “Mazal Tov“. It literally translates as “good luck”. Traditionally, this greeting is shouted out by friends and relatives immediately after the breaking of the glass indicating the conclusion of the Chuppah. Rav Ovadia Yosef (Yabi’ah Omer, IV, EH, Ch. 9) suggested eliminating the glass breaking practice for it has degenerated, in many circles, to nothing more than a contest of strength for the groom, followed the crowd’s cheer A well-known wedding greeting, are the words, “may you build a loyal home in Israel”. of “Mazal Tov.” It is obvious that the widespread usage of the “Mazal Tov” greetings found in the vast rabbinic responsa literature is testimony to the “Kosher” status attached to this greeting, although this seems to be at odds with the Talmudic conclusion (Shabbat 156a-b) that the Jewish people are not influenced at all by astrology (mazal.) Clearly, the popular usage of the “Mazal Tov” greeting totally ignores the Talmudic conclusion that luck does not influence what happens to Israel. The gןreeting simply expresses the hope that all will turn out well and for the best with no astrological significance intended. [The late Chief Rabbi of Beersheva, HaRAv Eliyahu Katz Zt"l, actually did object - and vehemently so - to the traditional "Mazal Tov" greeting on the grounds of its astrological associations]. On the other hand, many of the Ketubah headings, until this very day, include the line, “With good signs and good luck”, along with the “Mazal Tov” chants prevalent at all wedding conclusions today.
